Lovely Laundry Rooms…

Is it weird that I love laundry rooms?! This is an often ignored or overlooked room in the house but I don’t see any reason why this busy little room in our homes shouldn’t be just as pretty as other rooms! After all we spend a lot of time in here doing chores…why not have a room that’s so cute we’re skipping in to do the ironing?! (Ok that’s not gonna happen but at least if we like the room we might feel happier while we’re in there!) There are so many easy AND cheap ways to make this room pretty, practical and functional without sacrificing on style! Here are some beautiful inspiring photos of some lovely lil laundry rooms!

How cute is this little laundry room. I love the farm house sink (very practical in a utility room) and I’m a big fan of curtains instead of cabinet doors-they still hide the clutter but add so much colour and charm!

This bright fresh laundry room utilises the wall space very effectively with a wall mounted ironing board and extendable airing rack. High shelving provides extra storage for large items. Colour has been simply introduced thanks to a patterned ironing board cover and peg bag.

Why not paper the walls in pretty floral wallpaper? After seeing this picture I immediately decided to wallpaper my laundry room! Just haven’t quite got around to it yet! Brooke from Velvet & Linen used this beautiful Jane Churchill paper to cover the walls in her little laundry room. Love it!

A cute little display, some beadboard paneling and touches of lace create a pretty, feminine space..

Pretty laundry bags hanging from vintage hooks creates a functional but eye catching display! These beauties are from Kate Forman.

This quirky laundry room caught my attention. I love how the vintage alluminium buckets have been re-purposed to serve as deep utilitarian sinks. Very clever!

Love the sink skirt on this farm house sink and looooove the lace panels on the glass fronted cabinets! oh so vintage!

Stacking the washer and dryer saves lots of floorspace in this laundry closet. Even teeny tiny laundry rooms can be pretty when hidden behind patterned curtains!

  1. These are fabulous! I’m delighted to have a separate area to house the washing machine and dryer but it looks so drab compared to these. These are very inspiring photos!
