Easter decorating…

How cool is this Easter themed centrepiece?! I am sooo gonna show off to my family this weekend with this cool and simple home-made centrepiece! The great thing is, I already have some of these mugs; there’s lots of moss in my parent’s garden which I will rob; I’m going to ‘borrow’ some oasis that I know my Mam has somewhere at home and I have lots of white candles. I will just use some chocolate mini eggs for decoration! So, even if you don’t have these exact things, you can change it up a bit to suit what you have at home. If you’re gonna make a stab at this, here’s how…

What you will need:

  • FARGRIK white mug, €0.71, IKEA, www.ikea.ie or of course you can use a mug of your own
  • a JUMBLA candle from a pack of 20, €4.36, IKEA, www.ikea.ie
  • a packet of Cadbury mini eggs, about €1, your local newsagents
  • some moss from your garden or local park, completely free

Follow these steps:

  1. place some oasis into the mug
  2. stick the candle into the centre of the oasis
  3. layer some moss on top
  4. arrange some mini eggs on top of the moss
  5. stand back and admire :)

I think a few of these in a row down the middle of your dining table would look really cool… What do you think?

Here’s a few more lovely centrepieces for inspiration…

Here’s a post I did for House and Home…

These beautiful homemade centrepieces are so simple to create but will have your loved ones in awe of your creative talents for weeks to come…here’s how to create your own Easter table centrepiece…

  1. Simply fill a glass jar with decorative eggs and then add some flowers for a colourful splash to your Easter table.. you could tie a piece of raffia around the top of the jar for a rustic touch and maybe arrange two to three of these arrangements depending on the size of your table. This centrepiece is especially great when you are a little stuck for space.
  2. Similarly, fill a glass vase or jar with jelly beans and add some sunny yellow daffodils for a fun talking point at your table.
  3. If you have an old wooden flowerbox or vintage crate lying around, fill it with soil, plant some daffodils, layer some moss on top and add some decorative eggs for a similar look. Alternatively you could plant some daffodils in small terracotta pots, layer with moss and scatter a couple of mini eggs on top.
  4. If you have any silverware at home, dust it off and casually arrange your pieces along the centre of your table, filling each piece with a fluffy yellow daffodil. In this image they have used candle sticks and egg cups but you could use anything you have such as small jugs, sugar bowls and tea pots for an equally eye catching display. If you don’t have any silver, you could use pieces of vintage china for a similar look. It’s all about using what you have at home.

And here’s a few more pics to drool over…

This is a beautiful colourful arrangement of garden flowers including one of my all time favourites-lilac. It’s funny because purple is not a colour I tend to go for in clothes or home accessories but in plants and flowers I’m obsessed with it! The lemons and limes add the perfect Spring-time look..

IN-CRED-IBLE… need I say more!

Maria from Dreamy Whites creates the most amazing vintage style tablescapes with fabulous flowers that she grows in her own garden. I share her love of using simple, rustic containers for her flowers in preference to fancy expensive vases…an aged terracotta pot provides a humble resting spot for these beautiful happy daisies..

Alternatively, you could create an Easter tree and place it in the centre of your table for a dramatic display without taking up too much table space.

Hope these images have given you some inspiration and I wish you all a very Happy Easter!
