Well by now we’ve all heard the news of Brad & Angelina’s much anticipated engagement which was announced just last week…here was our first glimpse of the multi-carat rock on her finger. It certainly looks like it’s weighing her down doesn’t it?!
And here’s a close up of the Emerald cut custom ring that apparently took Brad a year to design in collaboration with Angelina’s jeweler, Robert Procop….a year?! Come on?!!
So, it was inevitable that there were going to be comparisons made against Anjelina’s ring with the engagement ring Brad gave to Jen Aniston (which he also co-designed)
So, which ring do you prefer? Personally, I wouldn’t be crazy about either! Angelina’s is way too modern for my taste but I do like the main Emerald cut stone. And I really don’t like the swirly band and pattern of the stones on Jen’s but it is seriously sparkly! What do you think?
With all these comparisons being made between Brad and Angelina and Jen and Justin, I thought I would do my own…..on their houses! Just to be clear, I am 100% on Team Aniston and always will be. I’ve loved her ever since her days on Friends and have admired her restraint and grace ever since her husband left her for Angelina after making (the most ridiculously stupid films of all time) Mr & Mrs Smith. She has maintained her dignity and class in a way that not many other people could manage. And although I respect all the charity and humanitarian work that Brad and Angelina do, I am still disgusted at how disrespectfully and insenstively he handled the whole thing… Anyways, let’s look at their houses and compare.
First up, Brangelina’s Malibu mansion that they sold for $14million because their ever expanding family was starting to outgrow it.
The super modern 4 bed, 4 bath home sits just off the beach with its own pool, tennis court and private access to the beach. The walls of glass in this room provide an unreal view of the ocean but that furniture to me is hideous and not in any way child-friendly. How could you get comfortable on that curvy sofa?! Brad is an architecture enthusiast and clearly favours modernist style.
This is another living room which I think is nicer but still way too contemporary and ‘styled’ for my taste. Too many straight lines, hard edges and perfect symmetry. The bamboo flooring and the view is incredible though. Do you like this room?
This is the Master bedroom. One thing I love about this is the wood carving on the brick wall above the bed. I think it’s gorgeous and earthy and softens the whole look. It’s the only earthy natural looking thing I see in the house. The only thing that offers a bit of personality.
The pool area. Again, it’s very formal for a place that has six kids running around the place. I’m not sure I can see beach balls and other pool toys strewn all over the place but at least each kid has their own fancy sun lounger!
Next up… the charming Hollywood hideaway of these two lovebirds…
Now, this is kinda cheating because this is just a rental but hopefully Jen & Justin will buy a place together soon! Jen just bought two apartments in NYC with plans to make them into one big two story apartment so watch this space! What’s so cool about this house is that it’s a modest $3million dollar 1700sq ft home (when she could afford way bigger) with only two bedrooms and two bathrooms but yet it appeals to me a hundred times more than Angelina & Brad’s modern mansion. Check it out..
How beautiful is this light-filled living room with its reclaimed flooring, rustic antique furniture and amazing vaulted ceilings. I just love it. Jen famously said after her divorce from Brad “At least now I can get a comfortable couch!” She certainly has comfort here. The wall of French doors on the left open out onto a beautiful pool area…
I really love the dining table and chairs, they’re a lovely mix of laid back elegance-my favourite combination.
The kitchen has a real homely feel to it like herself and Justin actually cook meals in here rather than staff cooking for them.. well I like to think they cook their own meals anyway! More gorgeous antique flooring and there’s those matchstick blinds that I’m so fond of..
Check out the Master Bedroom. Love everything about it except for the curtains but they could be changed (!) Look at that vaulted ceiling! Really love the bench at the end of the bed..maybe Justin sits here and chats to Jen when she’s getting ready for a night out?! How nice would it be to have French doors off your bedroom leading onto the garden? I would looove that!
The Master Bath… beautiful vanity unit and mirrors.
This is the cozy guest bedroom. This must be where Courtney Cox and Jen’s Goddaughter Coco sleep when they come to visit (hehehe) I love the headboard on the bed!
How charming is this house?
The pool area is just off the living room and it looks so private with all those high trees surrounding the house.
So, what do you think? Do you prefer Angie & Brad’s modern pad or Jen & Justin’s cosy love nest? Leave me a comment below

HATE Angelina’s ring!! Wouldn’t be my cup of tea at all!! Not mad on jens either! Love jens house, hate all that modern ,cold ,minimalist look!! Love the French doors to the garden in jens house! Love the pics
In Brad and Angelina’s i appreciate the walls of glass that bring the outside in but for me it’s Jen’s house without a doubt! Love love love the ceilings and just the overall look. Great pics.
Yeah I’m the same, love the uninterupted views but it just feels a little cold…not as warm and cosy as Jen’s! Thanks for your comment x
