My home featured in House and Home magazine!

I’m very excited this week as my home has been featured in the July/August issue of House and Home magazine so I thought I’d share a few pics from the shoot which was beautifully photographed by Paul Sherwood.

This is a shot from the kitchen looking through to the dining area. We didn’t want a separate dining room so we have two arches either side of the antique pine dresser that lead into the dining area and through to the sun room. It creates a nice open-plan feel without being too open. The turquoise sideboard is one of my favourite pieces in the house – in case you haven’t noticed – I am obsessed with aqua shades in particular turquoise, duck egg blue and cobalt blue! I was determined to have a salvaged brick wall somewhere in the house and this was the perfect place, it really helps to define the space.

This is a shot of our bedroom taken from the landing. The mahogany four poster bed was an eBay find and I added lace panels for a delicate vintage feel. I chose to hang little glass pendants over the bedside tables in preference to lamps.

I picked up a few of these cut glass bowls at a flea market for about €1 each – I keep this one by my bed for jewellery that I’ve been wearing that day, I think it creates a pretty display as well as being practical!

I spotted the carved stone panel at a garden centre and had to have it. It found a home just above the bed. Fresh lilac robbed from my parents’ garden – one of my all time favourite flowers.

This is a cosy nook in the hall looking down from a balcony above. The linen daybed is so comfy and is another of my favourite pieces .

Hope you’ve enjoyed this mini house tour of my home and if you’d like to see the full article you can pick up the latest copy of House and Home magazine.
