Here’s Sandra Foster standing on the porch of her tiny Victorian dream home in the Catskills, New York. Sandra turned the former hunting cabin into a romantic cottage she had always dreamed of using salvaged architectural finds and doing the carpentry herself!
The tiny 9ft by 10ft cottage features a living space with a pretty shabby chic sofa; vintage cabinetry showing off Sandra’s enviable collection of Limoges china and bookshelves have been built into the slant of the roof for all her books. The fire surround was a flea market find and holds all of Sandra’s pretty vintage trinkets and candles. It is pretty much a girl’s dream hideaway I reckon..
Looking back towards the front of the cottage we see the sleeping loft in the roof which is reached by a ladder. This is the most beautiful bedroom nook I have ever seen. She has some of Rachel Ashwell‘s gorgeous ruffled bedlinen on the bed and has covered the roof with floaty white drapes. THE perfect place for a nap! And how cute is that little window by the bed?!
Here’s a close up of the little bedroom nook…
Sandra made these shelves herself and found the chippy painted French doors at a flea market for $15 each!
Sandra made the window box herself from salvaged wood and added the garland decorations.
Sandra and her husband Todd outside their charming little cottage in the countryside!
